Who are we and what do we do?
Makin' Music, Inc is an educational music service under the ownership of Brian & Shirley Faulkner of Russellville, Arkansas, USA. The educational component is divided into several divisions including preschool music services, teacher training workshops, and sales of educational materials
Dr. Brian K. Faulkner is a 1987 graduate of Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas with a BS in Music Education. He is a 2002 graduate of the Nova Southeastern University's Fischler Graduate School of Education and Human Services with a Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Education and completed his Doctorate of Education in Child Youth Studies in Fall 2008. He is also an Adjunct Professor of Education with the Fischler School of Education and Human Services at Nova. Brian teaches the early childhood classes and conducts the workshops. He is a member of the following professional and civic organizations:
- National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
- Southern Early Childhood Association (SECA)
- Arkansas Early Childhood Association (AECA)
- Early Childhood Music & Movement Association (ECMMA)
- Technology Institute for Music Education (TI:ME)
- Music Educators National Conference (MENC)
- Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Professional Music Service Fraternity - Kappa Eta Chapter 1982
- Traveling Arkansas' Professional Pathways (TAPP)
- Arkansas River Valley Arts Center (served 5 years on board of directors)
Brian was also appointed in 2005 by then Governor Mike Huckabee to serve a three year term on the Arkansas Early Childhood Commission.
2010-2011 Preschool Curriculum
Shirley Faulkner is a 2003 graduate of Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, Arkansas with a Bachelor of Music Education degree with emphasis in voice. In addition to working with Makin' Music, Shirley operates a non-profit organization, the Arkansas Center for Music Education (ACME). ACME provides home school and private school music opportunities and community performance groups. In addition, ACME provides music classes for the Community Based Instruction (CBI) program at Russellville High School. She is also the conductor of the Community Festival Chorale. Shirley is a member of the following professional and civic organizations:

- Music Educators National Conference (MENC)
- Technology Institute for Music Education (TI:ME)
- Arkansas River Valley Arts Center
