Preschool Music Services & Curriculum

Makin' Music provides weekly music services to childcare centers and daycare family homes in the Arkansas River Valley area.  Each week we provide developmentally appropriate music that is both fun and educational at the same time meeting the frameworks for Arkansas Early Childhood Frameworks and the Pre-K standards for Music Educators National Conference.  Our curriculum is not that of Kindermusik or Musikgarten.  It has been developed by Brian Faulkner over the past 14 years.  A great emphasis is placed on hands on experience with actual music instruments - both band, orchestral, and various ethnic.  When our children enter Kindergarten most are several grade levels ahead of their counterparts.

In the typical class time that ranges for 20-30 minutes, the children will participate in teacher led activities as well as child led and selected activities.  They are allowed to request for songs that they would like to hear during 1/4 of our class time.  We also strive to integrate our activities with the curriculum that your center uses and can provide supplemental songs to aide in the learning process.

Throughout the year, children are exposed to a myriad of multicultural styles of music, given the opportunity to build instruments, and also learn basic music concepts appropriate to their age groups.  Below you will find our curriculum for the school year and a list of our clients.  If you are interested in becoming one of our clients please contact us.
